NannyPay's Payroll Register Screen

Overview


        NannyPay's Payroll Register Screen provides an "at a glance" view of all your current, year-to-date, and quarterly payroll transactions.  Although you may not create a payroll transaction from the Register window, you can delete transactions, print pay stubs, or export transactions in QIF format (Quicken Interchange Format),

Click here to create a new NannyPay file.  You may wish to do this when you change nannies or to start a new year.



Click here to open a previously created NannyPay file.  If you use NannyPay to calculate withholding for more than one employee, you may wish to use several NannyPay files.



The cut, copy, paste and undo buttons correspond to the standard Windows editing operations.  See your Windows documentation for further information.



Click here to print your household employee's pay stub.  The pay stub will contain the personal information you have entered in the Set Up Screen and the current and year-to-date calculations.



Click on the calculator icon and NannyPay will calculate your household employee's withholding tax.



Scroll to a payroll transaction you want to delete, and click here to make the deletion.  Because you can't undo deletions, NannyPay will prompt you before deleting the payroll transaction.  The Delete button will be grayed if it is unavailable.



Click here to take you to the NannyPay Set Up Screen.



Clicking the "Dollar" button will take you to NannyPay's "Payroll Check" window.



Click here to jump to the Register window.

To view NannyPay's context sensitive help, click the "Help" button and move the arrow to the item you wish to learn about.  Then click your left mouse button to see the popup help window.



The "Exit" button automatically saves your settings and quits NannyPay.



The "Current Register" contains all the calculations for the current and previous pay periods.  You may scroll through the register using the vertical scroll bar on the far right and you can select any row by clicking on it.  The information contained in the current register will appear in your household employee's pay stub when you print it.



The year-to-date (YTD) register contains the sum of all the calculations from the beginning of the year to the current pay period.  If you select any pay period in the current register by clicking on it, the YTD calculations corresponding to that pay period will appear in the YTD register.  YTD calculations for the selected pay period will appear in your household employee's pay stub when you print it.



NannyPay automatically totals the amount of deductions and payments by quarter.  The quarterly register enables you to track quarterly payments and deductions.  The quarterly totals will be reflected in your quarterly report, if you print one.



The status bar displays important tax information:  your state of residence; your household employee's federal filing status, number of allowances, pay rate, and pay schedule, the current date and the displayed payroll transaction number.  When you start up NannyPay and there are active reminders, they will scroll across the status bar.  To stop the scrolling, click on the status bar.



You can view previous payroll transactions in this screen by clicking on the left arrow to navigate to the previous payroll transaction, or click on the right arrow to move to the next payroll transaction.  To create a new payroll transaction, click on the "square" button.  If the buttons are "grayed", this feature is not available.



Click on the Inverted dollar sign to navigate to the gross pay calculator.
